The name Huchuy Qosqo means “small Cusco”, this archaeological center located 50 km north of the city of Cusco, was ordered to be built by the Inca Wiracocha who feeling old and tired wanted to leave the government, looking for a place where he could rest.

Huchuy Qosqo is one of the emblematic places of the Inca culture. During the tour we will visit the beautiful town of Chinchero to appreciate the terraces, as we arrive to our destination we can observe the diversity of flora and fauna, and also we will taste the gastronomy of the magical Sacred Valley.

7:00 – 7:30 hrs. Start of the Huchuy Qosqo full day tour in Chinchero.

Our tour will start with the pick up from your hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 am. Our first stop will be the town of Chinchero, where we can appreciate beautiful landscapes and large fields of crops. Having as first stop the town of Chinchero, we can appreciate the extensive fields of crops, which have been cultivated since ancient times. We travel along the shores of the Laguna Piuray, towards the community of Tauca (3762 m.a.s.l.) where our hike begins.

We follow a dirt trail, with a gentle slope to the Pucajasa pass (4393 masl), where we will have a spectacular view of the Urubamba mountain range. This pass is about 200 meters long. We begin our descent and find sections of the Inca Trail and we can also appreciate radical changes in ecological levels.

Arrival at Huchuy Qosqo

We arrive at Huchuy Qosqo (3688 masl), where we enjoy our snack trip. After a brief descent, we will begin our tour of the archaeological complex, then descend to the village of Lamay (2938 masl) where we will have our lunch. Then we will board our transportation back to the city of Cusco.

We will finish our tour at approximately 6:00 pm at your hotel in Cusco.
