Laguna Humantay is a beautiful lagoon that transmits serenity and peace, a natural enclosure, full of warmth and strength.
Looking up you can appreciate an imposing mountain surrounded by glaciers that are part of the Andes Mountains, among the most imposing snow-capped peaks: the Salkantay (Indomitable Mountain) and the Humantay (Head of the Gods).
We organize a tour to the Humantay Lagoon every day. Travelers must have at least one day of acclimatization in Cusco, this is a prerequisite since we climb up to 4200 mts. The tour to the Humantay Lagoon allows our hikers to visit this natural attraction.

When we arrive at the Soraypampa terminal, we begin the ascent to the Laguna Humantay, an experience that goes beyond walking (hiking) or trekking; it is to fill yourself with pure air, to feel how the mist caresses your cheeks and the high emotion of being in the skies.
Between 4:30 to 5:00 am – We start our experience with the pick up from your hotel and then travel comfortably in our transportation to the town of Mollepata, passing through charming villages and landscapes.
In the cozy village of Mollepata (Latitude -13.517 Longitude -72.533 Altitude 2976 masl) we will have a balanced breakfast that can recharge our energies to ascend to the great luna of Humantay Cusco with great spirit.
We continue our adventure by transport to the town of Soraypampa (3,900 m.a.s.l.), where the hike and direct contact with nature begins.
Already ready and with the indications of our guides, we begin our ascent to the wonderful Laguna Humantay, located at an altitude (4,200 m.a.s.l. / 13,779 feet). Whose contemplation satisfies our adventurous spirit.
After a prolonged stay and enjoyment of this lake, and eternalize our visit in the different photographic shots and recharged with the cosmic energy that emanates from the depths of the lake and the highest peaks; we descend with the high spirits of sharing this adventure with others. Again we return by transport to the town of Mollepata, where we will enjoy a hearty lunch, and then return to Cusco.

Although it can be done all year round, the weather usually stabilizes between the months of June and November, when there are more sunny days. However, as this is a mountain tour, there are certain occasions when fog and cloud cover may prevent visibility of the lagoon.
As this is a mountain activity, of medium-high difficulty, we suggest you bring walking poles, although they are not essential for the hike.
For the Laguna Humantay tour, lunch is held in a dining room at the Soraypampa camp, once the excursion to the Humantay Lagoon is finished. The lunch consists of salad, main course and juice.

The Humantay Lagoon is located northwest of the city of Cusco in Soraypampa belonging to the district of Mollepata Province of Anta. It is located at an altitude of 4200 m.a.s.l. so if you arrive in Cusco we recommend acclimatizing at least 1-2 days before trekking to the lagoon.
Humantay means Head of the Gods, this is because it is located on the slopes overlooking the high jungle.
